The Labour challenge

As staff members become increasingly challenging to attract and attain, in the food industry, pressure mounts to maintain staffing levels and ultimately production.


Increasing the incentive to seek employment in the food industry through elevated wages is a challenge for a sector that already operates in low margins, but it is necessary to reach a point of competition with other sectors, where wages are increasing and the manual labour is less strenuous.


To increase wages, but retain or improve margin can be achieved through incentive schemes, where the operators' pay is directly following the profitability of the line or department they are associated with.
